POLICY AND ADVOCACY
By elevating the voices and experiences of neurominority individuals, we can bring attention to the challenges that they face, such as discrimination, lack of access to resources and accommodations, and social isolation. This can lead to greater awareness and understanding of neurodiversity as a valuable aspect of human existence, and the ways in which society can better support and include neurominority individuals. In turn, this can contribute to the achievement of the UN SDGs, which aim to promote social and economic development, reduce inequalities, and promote human rights. By prioritizing equity, inclusion, and diversity and the S in ESG within the workplace and in society, ION aims to contribute to building a more just and sustainable future. This can benefit not only neurominority individuals, but society as a whole, by promoting greater social cohesion, economic development, and environmental sustainability.
ION voice overview
How it works?
The ION voice develops through our members. We conduct surveys which will feed into the subjects we focus on in lobbying, advocating and campaigning. Through our worldwide neurominority networks we gather the different lines of thought in different areas such as diagnosis, inclusion, discrimination, loneliness, disclosure etc.
We use the input to direct us not only in lobbying, advocating and campaigning but also in determining what research we should be pushing for to shed light on areas that are barriers for us all to prosper.
